I went to our annual guild sale last night and look at what I got! A very pretty Noro, 70% wool / 30% silk. I paid $10 for the bag of seven skeins and the skeins are maked $9 each - whoppee!!! This NEVER happens to me. I always read posts about people going to garage sales and scoring bags of gorgeous yarn for $15. Nope, not me - never. When I go to garage sales, I end up with broken furniture to restore.
My one great Ebay find - www.handpaintedyarn.com got completely bought out when www.knittersreview.com posted a glowing review of their beautiful and incredibly inexpensive kettle dyed merino. You can just guess what happened. They were so swamped with the resulting orders that they haven't caught up yet. It's been months and I can't get any more of that luscious yarn.
So now I have this Noro and no idea what to do with it. I think I have enough for a small shawl, about 842 yards. It looks like I'll get about 5.5-6 spi. It also might look good as a vest for fall/winter. Hmmmm...
Anyway - I'm off to the library book sale which at this particular library is fabulous. Like I said - I'm never the one who finds the treasure, or at least not until last night, so maybe my luck is changing! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
