I came here looking for bagels, but I found this lovely post. Your gateau looks beautiful, and while I am not laughing at you, it is nice to read that everyone had some kind of issue with the cake.
I didn't get all the way to adding the flour before I realized the difference.

I'm like you...I would make the rounds and tell everyone what exactly was wrong with it...
Your cake looks lovely and the piping is great.
Now, what are these black bottom cupcakes? Just curious :)

Well late or not, you did a lovely job.

Sorry it's taken me so long to come visit. Your gateau is lovely and a welcome addition to the Daring Baker challenge. Your guests probably thought that they had gone to heaven.

Claudia, I think it looks fabulous! I'm glad you made the cake, too.

Phew, that was worth waiting for. very pretty.

It looks wonderful to me, but I'm like you and would be very critical of my own work. I wish I had been there at the party to eat a slice from each cake.

It was worth the wait -- thanks for sharing! :)

Stunning! I love your piping and have this feeling thatI would prefer your chocolate variation! Well done!

Claudia that is fabulous. Wonderful write up. We can be so critical of our work and others miss the flaws and find it awesome! It should be a lesson for us but we never seem to learn.

You did great! Glad to finally see the pictures!
